Play area fencing has been unveiled at a new playground in Devizes following a £1.5 million refurbishment project.

Hillworth Park was launched last Saturday (July 30th), with youngsters queuing before 10am to try out the new facilities for the first time.

Furthermore, thisiswiltshire.co.uk reports that the equipment was unveiled a year ahead of the rest of local renovation in the area because the £100,000 grant had to be spent in this financial year.

Mayor Sue Evans told the news provider that people will be able to stay healthy without signing up to a gym.

"This is fantastic. People don't need to go to the gym for their exercise. They can come for a walk in the park and then get on this equipment," she explained.

"This is a huge benefit to the community."

Elsewhere, a playground in Shotts was opened last week and features new play area fencing following a £112,000 investment.
