Security bollards and damaged metal railings are to be removed as part of a clean-up operation in Swindon.
The town's council aims to remove over 100 pieces of so-called "street clutter" in a bid to improve the appearance of the area's centre.
Bosses want to completely remove or improve a host of eyesores such as damaged signs and barriers at 118 sites across the region.
The regeneration work is expected to cost £15,000 but councillor Rod Bluh has called on Swindon residents to suggest new ways to help rejuvenate the town, making it more attractive for tourists.
Mr Bluh told the Swindon Advertiser: "This is my spring clean campaign for Swindon to get rid of all the clutter. We've got so many old, dented signs and I’m saying if it has not got a purpose and we don't need it, get rid."
Swindon is home to the world-renowned "Magic Roundabout" which encompasses five roundabouts into one and the council do not want the "street clutter" to let the sparkle go out of this famous landmark.
