Residents in Kirkcaldy have raised concerns after a number of new security bollards were damaged on the town's high street.
The Scottish town made improvements to the shopping area in the past year and have installed a number of barriers to prevent cars driving on the pavement. However, some of the bollards have been bent or dented by vehicles and already one of the new benches has been scrawled with graffiti.
Now residents and shoppers are asking questions as to how well the High Street is being maintained with the council being urged to do more to keep the town centre in a respectable state.
Tim Masters, lead officer with asset management and projects at Fife Council, told Fife News: "Any of the utilities need to work under the ‘New Roads and Street Works Act’ to ensure that the street is looked after and any work carried out is to our satisfaction."
Elsewhere, residents and business owners in Rhyl have reacted angrily to council plans to install more bollards on Trellewelyn Road.
