Wrexham Council is planning to install high security fencing around Alyn Water Country Park in a bid to deter fly-tippers.
The area has had a "persistent" problem with people dropping waste and members believe it is spoiling the picturesque scenery of the park.
Councillors are seeking planning permission for 100 metres of 6ft high security fencing which will prevent people fly-tipping in and around the site.
A report detailing the problems has been submitted to the planning committee and, if approved, will help stop the act as well as maintain the natural beauty of the park.
Wrexham Council's spokeswoman told The Leader: "We have been carrying out a clean-up of the bank along the edge of the Alyn Waters country park to remove fly-tipped material from the area."
Alyn Waters is the biggest country park in Wrexham, situated in the Alyn Valley, attracting a number of tourists every year thanks to its woodland, grassland and riverside walks.
