Security fencing could be considered in Halton after vandals inflicted damage to a playground.

The Hough Green play area has been hit by a number of problems since May, including damage to equipment and intimidation by teenagers.

Furthermore, reports of urination on the slide have led to the council sending out teams of workers to sort out problems left behind, reports Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News.

Councillor Paul Nolan told the news provider that these issues will not continue in the future.

"Younger children using the site in recent weeks have felt intimidated by older youths and it won't be tolerated.

"This is a play area for more than one age group and people should be aware that we will pursue this until it stops."

Last week, it was reported that residents in Evesham have helped raise money for new play area fencing and equipment at a playground opening this Sunday (September 11th).
