Burnley residents who wanted to install security fencing to keep out nuisance neighbours have seen their proposal thwarted.
According to ThisIsLancashire.co.uk, people living in three streets of the town have been trying for some time to implement security measures to stop people from a nearby estate who they claim have been targeting their properties and vehicles.
One resident, David Pickering, wanted to put up two-metre security fencing to curb access, but it has been rejected by Burnley Council.
Last year, a proposal to implement gates on alleyways was also thrown out.
Planning inspector Richard Watson acknowledged that the fencing "would provide some form of security", the news provider reported, but said he was not convinced it would fully resolve the problems in the community.
Residents living in another Lancashire town, Skelmersdale, are currently bidding to keep the security fencing they put up around their homes to combat instances of anti-social behaviour.
