Funding for a lock for metal gates and reinforcement of security fencing at an allotment in Bristol are in the pipeline following a vandalism attack.
The person broke in and drove through village allotments in Wrington on October 24th or 25th, causing destruction, the Weston, Worle & Somerset Mercury reports.
Compost bins and the greenhouse were driven through and crops were destroyed.
Earlier in the year it is believed the same vehicle, a 4x4, was used in a similar attack, in which sheds were set ablaze.
"We are very disturbed about what happened," Wrington Parish Council chairman, Echo Irving, told the newspaper.
The council will now provide funding for a lock for the site's gates and the improvement of security fencing will be considered.
Kim Tacchi, neighbourhood beat manager, told the newspaper: "This incident is an absolute surprise and has come out of the blue.
"You cannot put a judgement on what is in the mind of the person who did this."
