Residential amenities will be protected if metal gates are installed along a street in Upper Tean, Uttoxeter.

That is according to Bovale, a housing development company, which is looking to erect metal gates to stop unauthorised parking in the area.

According to uttoxeteradvertiser.co.uk, plans have been resubmitted after they were rejected by the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council last year.

The developer told the news provider that there has been a "noticeable increase in third party traffic accessing the site".

"This scenario has caused considerable obstruction to those vehicles that are directly and legitimately associated with the development," it added.

However, the news provider said that two letters of support and eight letters of objection have been received in regards to the revised plans.

Elsewhere, metal gates could also be replaced in Mill Hill, Tunstall, following the theft of three of them. Police are investigating the incident, where two single green gates and a single black gate were taken.
