Construction of a new supermarket and steel fencing installation will take place in Melton early next year, it has been announced.
Sainsbury's new store in the area will be built on the site of Melton Council's former offices from early in 2012 after being given the go-ahead by the secretary of state in April, the Melton Times reports.
The new outlet will create 350 new jobs and 150 temporary construction roles before, during and after building works take place.
Sainsbury's development executive Robert Oxley told the news provider that the company is currently working on the legal side of things.
"We're currently working with various bodies to finalise all the legal obligations attached to the planning permission, and plan to start construction works in early 2012," he said.
"We will keep the local community informed and look forward to coming to Melton."
Pedestrian guardrails may be installed in a Sainsbury's car park in Sussex as renovation works take place on the Heathfield store's car park.
