Play area fencing has been unveiled at a new playground in Chickerell following a massive investment and two years of construction.
The £166,000 facility, situated at Willowbed Hall, opened to the local community last week featuring top-of-the-range swings and other equipment.
However, the opening has been blighted after rusty nails and broken china were found in top soil near the site, reports Dorset Echo.
Chickerell Town Council mayor Mike Jolliffe told the news provider that the play area has remained open as it has been unaffected by the find.
"A small area was found to contain small amounts of glass, rusty nails and broken china, which were immediately removed by representatives of the main contractor who were present on Saturday afternoon, together with other adults," he said.
The park's developer Monster Play added that the objects were not seen during the visit of its safety inspectors and other members of staff.
