A headteacher has called for the installation of metal railings and a pedestrian crossing outside his school in Norfolk following an accident involving an 11-year-old girl.
According to the Diss Express, the youngster, who wasn't seriously injured, was involved in the collision after she left Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston late last week.
The incident was witnessed by the school's headteacher, the girl's mother and fellow pupils, the newspaper reported.
The girl's mother told the newspaper the traffic situation outside the school was "a nightmare" and a "horrendous problem".
"Something needs to be done as I don't want other parents to go through that," she added.
Richard Cranmer, head of the school, said he had feared an incident such as this would happen since the day he joined the school. Detailing the school's attempts at installing traffic calming measures, Mr Cranmer told the newspaper he had been informed there was no money available for such improvements.
"We really need railings and a proper crossing," he said.
