Residents in Cogan are calling for the council to replace unsafe equipment at a nearby play area.

The Penarth Times reported that Vale Council put up security fencing and took away the equipment on Tuesday (December 20th) after it failed a health and safety test.

Now residents are calling on councillors to replace them so their children can play at the site once again.

Parents and grandparents that have kids that attend the Cogan Nursery School have started a petition for the council to replace the old equipment.

Jane Braund, whose two children have been regular users of the play area, told the source: "They [the council] are obviously not going to repair it because of the cost, but they should put something similar in place, as there is nowhere else close by for the children to go."

Children in Buckingham attended the opening of a play area which had gone under a £70,000 renovation which was heralded as a "fantastic facility for local children".
