A wheelchair friendly Leeds play area is finally set to be built after overcoming a number of planning issues.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that the plans to renovate the facility in Roundhay Park had been hindered by delays, funding cuts and disagreements between the council and residents of what it should be turned into.
However, the problems have now been resolved and work is expected to be completed on the £140,000 project by the end of May and will sit alongside the area's already installed skate park.
Councillor Adam Ogilvie, executive board member with responsibility for leisure, told the source: "It is great to see the progress of the playground at Roundhay Park, and it will be a welcome addition to this excellent Leeds park."
The Friends of Roundhay Park, set up in 1994, who decided to take a keen interest in the green space, have welcomed the conclusion to the discussions and believe that the decision on the location is a win for people power.
