Security bollards needed at pizza outlet

Security bollards are needed to stop lorries delivering to a pizza outlet from parking on the pavement, a campaigner in Bath has said.

According to the Bath Chronicle, there have been complaints from people living and working near the building that large delivery trucks are pulling up on the pavement.

Residents also say the firm is in breach of its planning conditions, which state deliveries should be made at the back of the building.

While Bath and North East Somerset Council's parking department has vowed to monitor the situation, Liberal Democrat campaigner Lisa Brett feels a more concrete solution is needed – security bollards.

"I think the only solution is to put up bollards or something to prevent vehicles from parking there," she told the newspaper.

A spokesperson for the pizza firm said the issue would be looked into.

Recently, a school in Staffordshire installed security bollards to stop motorists parking on the pavements outside when children were being picked up and dropped off.

Parents said they were concerned for their children's safety, the Sentinel reported.
