According to thisisthewestcountry.co.uk, an area of Tiverton that is covered with graffiti will be refurbished by people on community sentences.
Probationers will be issued with graffiti packs to clean up the metal security fence along a path between Amory Park and Blundells Road. It is described by the newspaper as "one of the worst affected areas".
The operation is in preparation for next spring, when an area under the bridge that leads to the park will house an artwork project by people involved in the Dream Scheme Dynamos.
It is organised by the Community Partnership Scheme, local agencies and officers from Devon Council.
"We intend to keep on top of any new graffiti as it appears by providing staff from various organisations with equipment to remove it quickly," Julia Ryder, community safety officer, told the newspaper.
Earlier this month, workers from energy supplier E.ON helped to improve security fencing at a school in Coventry.
