Residents of Sutton on Sea may not benefit from a facility complete with play area fencing as initially planned.
A local housing company has applied to have its obligation to build a children's playground on an estate removed, two years after finishing the initial project.
East Lindsey District Council granted the New Linx Housing Trust planning permission on the basis that it would provide a children's play area on Cades Field Road.
Andy Parker, area development manager for the Waterloo Housing Group, told the Louth Leader that the company is aware that many parents had hoped there would be a play facility on the estate.
"However, there are also residents on the estate who have expressed concerns about the prospect of an equipped play park within the estate," he commented.
It recently emerged that a play area designed especially for disabled youngsters had opened in Elstree, much to the delight of local parents.
