The developers of a former Edwardian community hospital in a Worcestershire town have applied for planning permission to install security fencing around the site in order to discourage trespassers.
Pinnegar Hayward Design, which is acting on behalf of Worcestershire Primary Care Trust, wants to employ the security fencing, measuring seven foot, ten inches high, around the disused hospital site in Malvern, the town's Gazette newspaper reported.
In its application to Malvern Hills District Council, the developer said: "The site needs to be protected whilst its future is determined. As this may take some time, a secure site boundary fence is required to prevent trespass," the newspaper reported.
The authority approved a proposal in 1995 for the future development of the site, which recommended that the building should be turned into a maximum of 15 flats, the newspaper said.
Recently, it was reported that security fencing had been erected around a derelict West Yorkshire hospital after the discovery of asbestos at the site.
