Drivers of new BMWs will be able to navigate their way around traffic barriers more effectively, thanks to a new gadget.
The Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) is available to any customer who specifies they would like a professional grade navigation system in their vehicle.
It is different from traditional systems in that it uses the Transport Protcol Expert Group channel over the GSM mobile network.
The RTTI is able to update every three minutes with an accuracy of around 500 metres.
Rival satnav provider TomTom recently unveiled the areas of the UK most likely to have installed traffic barriers, by shedding light on the country's most congested cities.
Ranking in first place was London, although Oxford was revealed to have experienced the biggest rise in congestion over the past year.
Edinburgh, Manchester and Belfast also featured inside the top ten, as did Bolton and Sheffield.
