Children at a Watford Primary School are benefiting from a new outdoor classroom, complete with secure school fencing.
The outdoor classroom features a pond, wildlife areas, exploration tables and artificial turf, as well as the new fencing.
Work on the project was completed by men and women taking part in Hertfordshire Probation Service's Community Payback scheme.
Headteacher Caroline Walmsley told the Watford Observer: "We're going to use the classroom for nature studies, looking at bugs, and also as a teaching area.
"We're really into outdoor learning. The children learn very well outdoors. They get excited and enjoy it, particularly the boys and very creative or scientific girls."
The Bury Free Press recently reported that play area fencing shaped like giant pencils has been fitted in a learning space in Suffolk.
According to the news provider, the fencing is popular with children using the play area due to its bright colours.
