It is possible that drivers using the A46 in Nottinghamshire could come across traffic barriers as further changes are made to the layout of the road.

In the early hours of December 2nd, traffic will be moved to the four-mile section of the A46 between Flintham and Farndon, which will operate in single lanes sharing the southbound carriageway.

Highways Agency senior project manager Geoff Bethel commented: "Changes to the layout of the A46 are now coming thick and fast as the scheme progresses and we hope road users will take care as they familiarise themselves with the changes to their journeys."

From December 2nd, traffic leaving Elston village of Eden Day Spa will no longer be able to join the old A46 as construction is set to begin on a new roundabout.

Motorists will instead be required to use new sliproads on to the A46, where they will be able to head either north or south to the destinations.
